Last update issued: 22 February 2021

You can be assured that Adventure Therapy continues to monitor the situation with regards to the Coronavirus pandemic.

As we continue a further period of lockdown we remain conscious of the simple fact that for many of the people we support, stopping activities could have a detrimental impact on their mental health and wellbeing.  However, whilst many of our activities take place on a 1:1 basis and predominantly outdoors, it is vital that we consider the health and safety of our participants, approved instructors, volunteers and supporters at all times.

We are currently observing Government guidance and referring to advice from Sport England and we are in ongoing discussion with activity-specific advisory bodies such as Surfing England.

Positive mental health and wellbeing is critical at this time and particularly for children and adults with challenging and complex lives. We have consulted with previous participants and parents and our support is needed more than ever.

At present a limited number of our activities are available during lockdown. These are on a 1:1 basis (or in small groups). Due to the need to observe social distancing at all times, these will be available for children and adults who would not require physical assistance and additionally, are not on the NHS shielded patients list.

Following the announcement from the Prime Minister on 22 February 2021 we look forward to having a greater degree of flexibility and an ability to provide further activities, including small group sessions, from 29 March 2021.

If we could help you or someone you know please visit and we will be in touch to discuss further.

We would like to thank all of our supporters for their continued kindness and support of our charity and particularly throughout these uncertain times.

Supporting Adventure Therapy

It is vital that we maintain our levels of fundraising income so we can be there to improve the emotional and physical wellbeing of children and adults with mental health conditions, learning disability, physical disability, life-limiting or life changing conditions, into the future. We would be very grateful if you felt able to support our charity and particularly at such a difficult time. You can help us to continue our mission by making a donation, of whatever size, here.

Thank you for your kindness - and for helping to change lives through adventure.
