We provide outdoor and adventure-led activities, grounded in therapeutic principles, for young people who are living with challenging and complex health conditions, impairments, or limitations.

We support young people with mental health conditions, neurodevelopmental disorders, physical disabilities, life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses and life-changing conditions. Our charity makes a positive impact, transforming lives through nature connection and nature contact, where every young person feels included.

The teenage years can be challenging for anyone, but even more so for those living with cognitive or physical difficulties. For teenagers and young adults, we build on the same principles used with children, but we introduce more demanding activities that offer an additional sense of achievement and personal growth.

Through our referral scheme, we work closely with young people and their families to identify activities that are both suitable and beneficial, taking into account individual health needs and circumstances.

Referrals

We work with a range of Professional Referral Partners in the communities we serve. These include the NHS, Social Services, schools and colleges, other charities, community organisations and private healthcare businesses. However, parents, grandparents and legal guardians can make a private referral, too.

Initially, we provide a programme of 6 sessions which, for young people, is followed by our Wilderness Project. This offers long-term support for young people through monthly activities.

Our referral process ensures that participation in outdoor and adventure-based therapy is appropriate and likely to benefit each individual, with the aim of improving quality of life and supporting emotional and physical wellbeing.

Our Approach

All of our activities are tailored to an individual’s abilities and capabilities. As our beneficiaries experience positive outcomes, they are motivated to continue engaging, building confidence and strengthening emotional and physical resilience over time.
