Who are our beneficiaries

We provide outdoor* and adventure-led activities to improve emotional and physical wellbeing for children, young people and adults with unique health conditions, impairments or limitations.

This means we support people with mental health conditions, neurodevelopmental disorders, physical disability, life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses and life-changing conditions. We make a positive difference in challenging and complex lives.

Our beneficaries are referred to Adventure Therapy by our Professional Referral Partners. These include the NHS, Social Services, case managers and rehabilitation therapists. In addition, we receive referrals from schools or colleges (as part of SEND), other charities, councils and community
organisations or businesses which support people with additional needs.

We encourage professional referrals but individuals can refer to us directly if they are over 18 and parents can refer their children to us, too.

Through our referral process, it is understood that participation in adventure-based therapy will be of benefit to an individuals situation or circumstance, improving their life with the likelihood of outdoor activities having a positive impact on their emotional or physical wellbeing.

We use adaptive equipment to enable accessibility and participation, where required. This includes our all-terrain wheelchair and an adaptive surfboard.

*on occasion, we offer some activities indoors, dependent on what may be of benefit to the individual or due to inclement weather. These include archery, indoor climbing or bouldering sessions and scuba diving sessions, in an indoor pool.
